As shadows begin to shift in Gotham, the air feels charged with a mysterious intensity. Smoke clings to the air, and something stirs within the darkness, just out of reach. With night comes a sense of freedom to become who you’re meant to be – or is it just a revelation of who you’ve always been?
Deceptive grapefruit and rhubarb open the fragrance, evolving into a green heart of smoked thyme, galbanum, and artemisia – pulsing and alive like the moonlit streets of Gotham City. The drydown is where the darkness sets in, a hazy cloak of tobacco, akigalawood, and myrrh.
It’s time to be the un-hero of your own story with Villain Gothams Resin, an ode to ambiguity, transformation, and the darkness that lives within us all.
In Gotham, the shadows don’t hide…
They reveal the truth of what lies inside.
Top Notes: Grapefruit Concentrate, Pink Pepper, Rhubarb, Smoked Thyme
Heart Notes: Galbanum, Artemisia, Ylang-Ylang
Base Notes: Akigalawood, Vetiver, Myrrh Resin, Tobacco
What does Chris Collins Villain smell like? Smoky and green with a citrus lift. Grapefruit, pink pepper, rhubarb and smoked thyme open it, galbanum, artemisia and ylang-ylang sit in a bitter-green heart, and it dries down on akigalawood, vetiver, myrrh resin and tobacco. An extrait de parfum, and a dark one.
Is Villain masculine or feminine? Unisex, though the smoke, tobacco and vetiver read masculine by convention. The ylang and rhubarb keep it from being one-note.
When should I wear it? Evening, and cooler weather. The smoke and resin are too assertive for a hot afternoon and come into their own after dark.
Is it worth buying blind? Galbanum and smoked thyme are among the most polarising materials in perfumery, and both are prominent. Sample it before committing to the 50mL.
