The Detroit Tigers won the World Series, I was young. Summer air smelled as new and clean as grapefruit pop sunk with ice cubes, fizzed in warm sun. Popsicle wrappers and fresh cut melons half-eaten on the picnic table.
It was the Summer of '84.
Notes: Grapefruit, Lemon, Bergamot, Melon, White Flowers, Fresh Water, Musk
What does Kerosene Summer of 84 smell like? Grapefruit soda over ice. Grapefruit, lemon and bergamot fizz at the top, melon and white flowers add a juicy, watery sweetness, and it settles into fresh water and clean musk. Bright and nostalgic rather than sharp.
When should I wear it? Warm weather is where it belongs: summer days, weekends, anywhere you want to smell clean and easy. It is a citrus fragrance, so it is light by nature rather than a heavy evening scent.
Should I buy the 100mL without trying it? Citrus-and-melon scents are generally easy to like, but melon is a note some people love and some do not. The 1.5mL sample is which is the cheapest way to find out which camp you are in.
Where can I buy it? Here, or in person at our counter in West Hartford, Connecticut. If you have not tried it, start with the 1.5mL sample before a full bottle of the perfume.
