Little Song is a deeply emotional, introverted, and melancholic masterpiece from the artistic Italian house of Meo Fusciuni. Masterfully composed by perfumer Giuseppe Imprezzabile, this fragrance serves as the poignant first chapter of the Metamorphosis Cycle, a collection dedicated to the relentless passage of time, the beauty of solitude, and the internal evolution of the soul.
Inspired by the dark, introspective literature of Franz Kafka and the haunting music of Nick Cave, Imprezzabile designed Little Song to mimic a comforting yet somber daily ritual in an artist’s studio. It captures a snapshot of a narrow, quiet space: a cigarette burning low between the fingers, a withered bouquet of red roses, and a cold, forgotten cup of espresso left on a wooden table. The scent shatters the standard rules of linear perfumery by using a dense, texturized coffee extract to build an almost structural, bitter tension against a dry, non-sweet Turkish rose. It opens with a vibrant but deceptive flash of pink pepper, ginger, and bergamot before pulling the wearer into an atmospheric, smoky cloud of dark tobacco absolute, bourbon vetiver, and a raw, deeply intimate touch of civet.
Olfactory Pyramid:
Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Ginger, Bergamot
Heart Notes: Turkish Rose Absolute, Coffee Extract, Liatris
Base Notes: Tobacco Absolute, Bourbon Vetiver, Civet, Sage Absolute, Musk, Cistus Labdanum Absolute
Vibe: "The Artist’s Solitude", a profoundly haunting, beautiful collision of cold spices and bitter, black espresso residues, interlocked with the dustiness of withered rose petals and a smoky, animalic skin-musk shadow.
Performance: Operating at a premium, ultra-dense Parfum concentration, Little Song acts as an exceptionally persistent, slow-burning presence that clings to the skin for a remarkable 10 to 12+ hours. Rather than functioning as a loud, aggressive projector that commands a room with synthetic sharpness, it creates a heavy, velvety, and deeply personal scent bubble. It moves through the air with an intimate but unwavering poetic sillage. The underlying smoky tobacco, earth-bound vetiver, and rich resins refuse to break down or fade into thinness, leaving a distinct, incredibly stable, and magnetic trail that holds tenaciously to heavy wools, dark fabrics, and outerwear for days.
