What are the notes in Sora Dora Raphael? Spiced and warm with a bright opening. Cardamom, pink pepper and rhubarb start it, nutmeg, magnolia, honeysuckle, iris and powdery violet fill the middle, and it rests on Haitian vetiver, vanilla, white musks, Atlas and Virginia cedarwood, cashmeran, ambroxan and patchouli. An extrait de parfum by perfumer Margaux Le Paih Guérin, so the drydown is where it lives.
Is Raphael masculine or feminine? Unisex. The cardamom-vetiver-cedar spine reads traditionally masculine, the iris, violet and magnolia soften it considerably, and the result does not sit firmly on either side.
When should I wear it? Autumn and winter suit the spice and wood best, though the rhubarb and pink pepper opening keeps it wearable on cooler spring days. It is a considered fragrance rather than a casual one.
Is it worth buying blind? At extrait concentration and 50mL, we would sample first. Iris in particular divides people, and it is prominent here.
